The perfect CCW 45 ACP (IMHO)

    • Holds at a minimum 9+1 rounds
    • Will reliably feed anything offered
    • Has built in light with full on, momentary on, and strobe settings
    • Has built in green laser
    • Has an accessory rail (never know what else you will want)
    • 3 to 4 inch barrel
    • Large easy to access safety and mag releases on left and right sides
    • Feeds rounds without the necessary barrel rotation (I’ve always not trusted the repeatability of that motion)
    • Has adjustable (in 4 directions) rear site while remaining robust.
    • Has removable front site. (for preference changes)
    • Has well rounded no hanging up contours.
    • SST or titanium contact surfaces on all moving parts. Hard coat anodized aluminum is another option here.
    • Large easy to locate mag well
    • Adjustable trigger pull
    • Double acting only without hammer (my preference) maybe available in DA/SA as well
    • Polymer or titanium frame for weight reduction
    • Removable and adjustable/replaceable grips for hand size fitting
    • Threaded muzzle for add on suppressor, etc.
    • Easy to field disassemble without tools

I’ll probably think of more later. Price is always an issue of course but you do get what you pay for. (USUALY)

My personal perfect .45 acp carry firearm would be minus a lot of those things but, that's OK because I don't need to carry the one that would be perfect for you.
As long as it's perfect for you then that's cool with me.

You forgot the shoulder stock and bipod!!

Seriously, all of that money would be better spent on practice ammo and range fees.

If I were 7 foot tall and weighed a good 400 pounds, I would use my kahr tp45 as a back pocket gun....

For a .45 ACP, its the good old 1911 for me!

    Imaginary gun?

I'm sure the poster knows that his description does not fit any gun currently manufactured. The integral strobe light and green laser pretty well eliminate all production .45s of which I am aware.

I suppose we all have our own idea of the features needed on our ideal .45 for CCW. Mine would be set up a little different than the poster's, but would have a number of the features he mentions.

My ideal .45 for CCW already exists, but I don't own it yet. It is the Wilson Sentinel, a 1911 with 3.6 inch barrel, Officer's size grip with slim panels and 7+1 capacity.

I'd like mine to have a microwave, I tend to get hungry when I'm out and about. I think it could save me from eating fast food.

GPS, AM/FM?CD/MP player & bottle opener.

Seriously, this goes for any gun: It should have decent sights, it should go bang when trigger is pulled & bullet should hit what you are aiming at.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

yes, less toys to go wrong, though I would love a cell phone, gun combo, but i'd be afraid of awnsering the phone by pulling the trigger.

What is the most dangerous animal in the world?
A shark riding on an elephants back, trampling and eating everything they see.

If you could train them to follow you around you would be set. Probably cheaper than lasers and strobe lights too...

My CCW gun is made of steel, holds 8+1, and goes bang when it needs to. The bullets are big and heavy, and go where I want them to. That's all I need...

You want a .45? get a Sig 220 or a glock 21sf or an XD45..those are your choices if you want complete reliability.
