    CDNN craziness

CDNN is really ticking me off.

First, after the Virgina Tech shooting, they elected NOT to put the prices of their pistols in their catalog because they were being "sensitive" to the situation.

To me that was not the right rock, but it is their magazine so I just went with it.

Now, their second catalog is the same way. No prices on the guns...and they always had some excellent prices.Instead, where the price should be, it says "CALL". I've bought many handguns from them over the years as well as accessories and magazines without a problem, but this no price thing is really ticking me off.

Usually I just download the catalog and place it on my desktop. A simple click and there it is. Very convenient. If I wanted a gun, I could call up one of several gun dealers,, tell them what I wanted on what page, and they would order It for me over the phone...no questions asked. They all know that I'll be in there within the week with the money to pick it up.

They must know that this "call" crap is losing them business.

Am I being too critical here or is just me?

If it's as bad as you say then no - not too critical IMO.

I guess they would state that they have ''good reason'' - whatever we might guess that to be, but sure as heck - it ain't gonna help sales any!!

I had not heard of CDNN until I just now looked it up. I would not have expected that from a gun company...especially one from Texas...

The thing is,Ive got some exellent buys form them over the years. They usally have used Sigs at prices that are hard to beat. The last one was a 225 that I paid 350 for, a police trade in.

Whoever owned it never shot it and must have kept in the closet. That thing looked brand spanking new.

Previously, you could look at the price so that you could compare.
    No more.

The website is only showing the 2007-6 catalog.

    Do you have the 2007-7?

Hotguns, I noticed that too, the online catalog says call for handgun prices, but the prices listed are in the delivered home catalog. I noticed it started with the last 2 online catalogs.

Get the paper catalog , not the pdf . the paper one has prices .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

I thought the pricing issue had to do with the gun companies putting pressure on CDNN to not advertise their prices because they were too low (and therefore affecting regular 'brick and mortar' stores.

For example, all new SIG guns have MAP (minimum advertised pricing) which causes online dealers to require calls in order for them to tell you the price.

I agree that it's no fun dealing with policies like this.

I get Emails from CDNN just about every week notifying me of their gun sales specials and they list the prices.

I get both gun and regular CDNN sales Emails so I rarely look at the catalogs online.

The printed catalogs I get do show the prices too.

I think it is a little silly if they don't show the prices on the downloaded catalogs. I mean, what is the point of that?

I work @ a gun shop part time and the reason CDNN gave us for the "call" for price was "all the gun shops are giving us crap about our prices so we only give catalogs with prices to gun shops " I guess all the dishonest shops were putting pressure on them & jacking up the price telling the customer the price they saw was dealer price ????? We've had alot of customers buy guns through CDNN . I think if they can get a deal from them GO FOR IT!!!!!

CDNN is supposed to be a supplier to retail shops. The prices you see are "dealer" prices. CDNN is supposed to be selling these guns only to other dealers, but we all know that they do sell to the general public. That is why the dont publish prices on some of their items.
