    S&W 908 vs 3913

I am trying a S&W 3913 to a 908. Are these guns different in anyway. If so, how are they different? Is one model noticeably better than the other?

I think the S&W 9xx series (908, 910, 915) are from S&W's 'value' line. Just missing a couple of bells and whistles, for example the slide rail isn't full length.

That said, I had a 910 (actually, the 910 is just the 10 round mag version of the 915, i bought it before clinton bill expired). Had no problems with it at all Just a little big for carry in the Texas heat. I had no issues with it at all seeing as it was a 'budget gun'. I'm sure the 908 would have been fine.

So, my guess is that the 3913 is just a little higher end.

I really like Smiths value line. I think the pricing is a little closer to what it should be, and they are great guns.
I cant tell you all the little differences, as I really dont pay much attention to Smiths lineup but I do know that fragmans comments are on the right track.

Ambi, vs single safety, some detail checkering, little smoother metal work on the 39s.

The 908s are decent, but if you think you'll stick with Smith, and can afford it, you'll probably like the 3913 more in the long run. If its just another pistol, out of 2, 3, whatever, the 908 will satisfy.
