I have an HK P2000SK in .40 but would like to hear if anyone has successfully swapped out a .40 barrel with a .357SIG barrel and kept a functioning firearm. I tried to get a word out of HKPRO, but the only advice they would give was that it would void my warranty. Is the swap a generally bad idea? Experience would help greatly. Thank you

Don't know about the HK. Did it with my Glock 23, and it works beautifully.

While I'm sure it would work, good luck finding a spare barrel. A friend of mine wanted to switch from 9mm to .40, and HK basically told him to sit on a tack because they don't sell spare parts to the great unwashed masses like us.

I'd be very surprised if you find an HK barrel. You might try CCF, as I believe he makes extended barrels for suppressors. you could buy an extended, and have your smith trim it down, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

I tried this once with a usp compact, which is about the same size. Every other round would jam with .357 sig. We could not use the same 40 mag, we had to buy specific .357 sig mags. All in all if you want a .40 that is easily switched buy a glock or a sig

I use .357 sig magazines in my .40 without a hitch. Perhaps the problem lies in going from 40 to 357, not sure. Thanks for the replies.

You can't change from 9mm to .40 because the hole in the frame isn't big enough. With a conversion barrel, you could go from .40 to 9mm (and I have done so).Originally Posted by Rob72
