It's cold up here. I attach a small tab of military grade velcro to my mitt, and the other piece to my jacket to enable me to yank off the mitt. Seems to work okay.

I bought a pair of mittens that the mitten part folds back and they are then fingerless gloves (except for the thumb). Think I picked them up at Dicks Sporting goods. I'll post some pix after I get home.

Darrel was my teacher and I was one of his instructors.

So I'm resigned to having to yank my mitten off to use the gun. Good thing about my sheepskin mittens is that they come off very easily.

If you remember Darrel Mulroy, he told me in a class ages ago that he knew a trooper who'd wear large mittens and carry a small gun inside the mitten when initiating stops in the boonies during our cold winters. Obviously, that's a technique reserved for very specific scenarios, but I thought it was a cool idea.
He was wise in many ways and is missed in the carry community.
