Current project is a 375 H&H Magnum pistol. Got an Encore pistol frame on Saturday and the barrel came in today. It's a rifle barrel 26" long but I'm sending it out tomorrow to get chopped down, refaced, threaded for a Vais muzzle brake and have it installed and turned to match barrel contour. All for free.

I am still stuck in Contender Land but that does me for now - .223 barrel stays on almost all time but occasionally the .44 mag or .45LC barrels get some use.

I offered money, lead, or brass but he turned them all down.
I'll mostly cast for the Holland. Thinking a 300gr jacketed would do about 2000fps from a 15" barrel. Cast would be a 264gr FNGC at about the same or a 335gr RN at 17-1800fps. I'll be shooting a lot of lead as it is dirt cheap and won't wear the barrel as quickly as with jacketed.

I've shot thousands of rounds through my Contender and I've got a 50 cal muzzle loader Encore rifle. I really like it but it's got quite a kick with 150 grains of Pyrodex. I'm not a big fan of large powder capacity cartridges being shot out of a pistol. It's going to blow a lot of unburned powder out the barrel unless you go with a pretty fast burning powder. I shot quite a bit of 45/70 with a SST barrel on my Contender and it was not bad.

I handload and cast my own bullets. Have lots of cast data with Unique, Blue Dot, IMR4198, R7.

Well, they carry 26" blued but they aren't in stock. Looks like the sale is over. Price is $269. UPS shipping is about $10.
