What material are they made of?
They are wood.
According to JD when he talked to the guy at Wicked Grips he made these for Shot Show and not for sale and JD managed to talk him into selling them. He even bob-tailed them for no additional cost!
They are so nice!!

Great looking grips, (I'd prefer red or blue but that beside the point)
I have a dumb question though. Never trying a pistol with bobbed grips what is the point of bobbed grips?

Well, the sales pitch is that the bobbed grip helps with concealment.
I used to think it was a bunch of bunk until I got Wilson. It really does make a difference.
The and of the grip doesn't stick out so bad and something that I've found that I REALLY appreciate is that it doesn't get caught on my shirts at all. One of my other 1911s used to literally wear a hole in some of my shirts because the back of the grip was pointy and rough and would rub on a particular area of my shirt until it wore a hole right through.
This doesn't do that because it's bobbed and smooth.
That and I just like the way it looks.

And as far as pink is concerned. I always wanted some kind of cutesy, colorful grips on my gun. I started designing my own with pink flowers and a hummingbird but really didn't finish that idea.
I like the color. It's cutesy, just like I wanted.

Wow, those grips really go well with the black gun and holster! The wood grain is beautiful!
The combination really works well... it grabs your attention, but it's not gaudy.
