9/11 actually did influence my decision. In the immediate aftermath, there was some, not overly paranoid, speculation that lesser grade attacks might occur in sports arenas, shopping areas, etc. Soon thereafter, my folks were beaten and nearly killed in a home invasion. My mother got free of her restraints, managed to slip out a window, and run stark naked through the yards to a neighbors house. The police speculated that they probably would have been murdered otherwise...that kinda did it for me.

No, my decision to get a CCL was based on my 2nd Amendment right, and the growing local crime rate. "Terrorist's", .....however..... have caused me to expand my "BLACK RIFLE", magazine and ammo collections.

My main reason is the years I have spent working EMS in a Metro area. I have seen what criminals can do. I think my chances of running into one of them is more than running into a terrorist....but 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Largly, it was a combination of 4 things that I decided to get my CCL.
1) Protection of myself and my family.
2) The democrats.
3) Rising crime.
4) Terrorist threat.
