Have any of you got your CCL because of concerns of terrorist activities
While it may only be a pop gun, I’ve carried a pistol on me all my adult life, so nothing has changed for me. But my question is have any of you got your CCL because of 911 or concerns of terrorist activities
Interesting website with map that shows day to day terrorist activities world wide

9-11 didn't cause me to carry but Tom Clancys " The Teeth of the Tiger" caused me to carry extra ammo to the mall.

Hey that's my line
I used that line on a BG in New Orleans once. I was cc a Sig 220, and he was trying to intimidate me on the street, I interrupted him and told him that he needed to be more worried about me. I never touched my gun or indicated anything at all.....he got the message and left quickly.
Now back on topic. My main reason for cc is for my (and family) protection, I think I'll most likely encounter BG's like the guy in my story above. Terrorist are always a possibility, but I think the chances are minimal, but much higher for the domestic BG's
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.

I consider anyone who may try to attack me and my family a terrorist of one kind or another. 911 didn't cause me to carry as I already was carrying, it just reaffirmed my need to carry.

I've heard it brought up before in some of the CHL classes that I teach...so it does appear to be a motivator for some people.
What I hear more often has already been said...the rapidly deteriorating state of mankind and the lack of respect shown these days.
I think that its a sad testament that we actually need to be armed today more so than ever.
All one has to do to verify that as fact is to look around and be aware.

No, not the terrorist, because most terrorist activities, whether they are home grown or from someplace else a concealed weapon is probably not going to make any difference.
Either of the World Trade Center bombings, the Oklahoma bombing, the DC area sniper shootings, concealed carry would not make any difference in situations like those.
Nut jobs in general that inhabit the area I might find myself in is what caused me to get my permit. That and at the time Texas had passed laws that possibly limited the times one could carry in their vehicle.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

One has to have his/her head in the sand, not to see what has happened to our society.
Now the only decision one has to make is do you really want to be a defenseless victim? I'm sure that the mall shoppers in NE today, had no idea that some nut with angry intentions and bullets would invade their lives.
I do not know if I may be shot at in a mall, or be the victim of some evildoer in a parking lot, but I do know that I will have an additional choice beyond begging for my life...I will not beg!
Stay armed...
...stay safe!

In the sense that criminals attempt to terrorize their victims, yeah. I refuse to be a victim. I won't allow my family to be harmed. Can't be doing that having only a cell phone and the false hope I'll be ignored or passed over. Have been carrying since 1995.
