I bought a nice used Beretta 92 for my son for Cmas. It's nickel plated. I would like to clean it up. Any recommendations for buffing nickel or, come to think of it, stainless as well. Thanks!

Carried a M/19 nickled S&W as a duty gun for years & used to polish it with Happich's simi-chrome paste. That product'l also work well for stainless guns too. I'd advise you avoid using a buffing wheel under power tho. Its plenty easy to use a soft cloth to remove small marks and scratches and a clean one to finish up.
Flitz paste is another good product, but be advised that both these items do remove a small amount of material in the polishing process. I had one fellow I worked with overapply the simi-chrome to a blued gun too liberally and he did thin the finish noticeably. Used judiciously both will do a fine job for you.
ditto dogrunner...either of the two. search ebay.
