Question What Was The Name? 1911 Parts Question

This is going back a ways.
Take a stroll down memory lane & give me a name for this part.
What was the name of the company that made it OR the name of the actual product?
    WHAT?...You Say
    ???????????????????????

OK! Read Carefully...I'm describing it as best as I can.
It was a one piece backstrap (Sold As An Aftermarket Part) for the Colt 1911 style pistols.
It was the Mainspring Housing & then smoothly and Completely ELIMINATED the Grip Safety & then went on further up to prevent hammer bite by providing a beavertail.
I'm guessing it was machined cast Blackened Aluminum.

I'm guessing that it "ceased production" for liability reasons since it elininated one safety feature AKA the Grip Safety.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? Anybody Remember It?
I don't think it was available for more than a few years.
I could be wrong about that though.

So this part basically turns the 1911 into a .45 ACP caliber BHP?

I once heard that early model autopistols used to come with pins to permanently bypass the grip safeties. Boy you wouldn't see that any more.

Not only autopistols, but the grip safety equipped Smith & Wesson models 40 and 42 Centennial revolvers came with a factory supplied pin to be used to deactivate the safety.

(See the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson by Supica & Nahas, pages 154-155).
