CT Gun Laws Suck
I was reading through the CT General Statutes and found this under Chapter 943, Section 53-202a: Definition of Assault Weapons:
(C) A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least two of the following:
(i) A folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
(iii) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; and
(iv) An ability to accept a detachable magazine
So by using that information, the shotgun pictured below (on sale at Bud's Gun Shop for $269) would be defined as an assault weapon because it has a folding stock and a pistol grip:
Give me a freaking break will you? Would Bud's refuse to ship this to me because it would violate the statute? I was planning on ordering this and adding a light and a side-saddle. :aargh4:
Ahh crap nevermind. It doesn't seem to apply because this is not a semi-automatic shotgun. Am I reading that right?
PS: CT Gun Laws Still Suck!
Based on what you have quoted and what you have pictured you can own the shotgun in the picture because it is a pump action shotgun vs. a semi-auto.
