Did my wife put you up to asking this question?

She asks me the same question all the time...

A long time ago when I owned 2 horses, which my wife did NOT share my enthusiasm for, she told me "If you'd sell your horses, you could buy all the guns you wanted". I 'splained to her "There's no such thing as ALL the guns I want".

I did sell the horses to a great home in '97. It was time.

Years before the "You could buy all the guns you wanted" incident I had to patiently 'splain to her about my interest in horses with the statement "I've wanted my very own horse a lot longer than I've wanted my very own woman".

I try and I try to 'splain things to her, but she never listens!

Here's ONE technique for S'plain things to the spouse. It takes the form of a PARABLE:

One day back in the early 1800's a newlywed couple was on their way home from their wedding. Blissfully discussing plans for their future. The single horse that drew their small buggy stumbled and the HUSBAND said
"That's ONE." with no further comment. They continued to speak and the horse stumbled again and the man said:
"That's TWO." with no further comment. The conversation continued until the horse stumbled again. Where upon the man said
"THAT'S THREE" and he hops to the ground and walks to the front of the animal. Drawing a pistol he shoots the horse DEAD.

His beloved wife begins to SCREAM at him!
"ARE YOU NUTS? THAT WAS OUR ONLY HORSE! Now what are we going to do??" And on and on and on.

When at last, there was silence...the husband asked: "Are you finished?"

"YES," sighed the wife. The husband said:

    "THAT'S ONE."

It's a TECHNIQUE. I didn't say I used it on my wife, I'm just saying it's ONE technique!!!! I, in fact, KNOW BETTER.

only three handguns and 1 rifle....right NOW
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

I, too, have a few. I always want more and intend to scratch that itch at every convienence. I recently was talking to a member of the Alabama Gun Collectors Association at a gun show where he was actually showing part of his collection. He has been collecting for many years and has just about completed what he started. He collects WWII military firearms and has up until the last 2 or 3 years focused on the Pacific Theater. He has a small collection of American and Allied firearms, but most are Japanese. I asked him what his wife said about his collecting. He said that she finally quit bothering him when he got up over 500. Yep, he said over 500.

Okay, guys, now we know the secret. To get your wife off your back about your guns you must get past the 500 mark. Some of you had better get started if you expect to get it done while it still matters.

Oh, around 15 or so right now. I have to slow down on buying holsters and sending pistols off for refinishing, and things like that so I can get a few more that I want.

How many???? I have one on me.....

the rest I'd have to add up, but I ran out of fingers & toes. Let's just say I have what would be considered an arsenal. I'm almost to triple digits.

    I've bought 7 so far this year...come to think of it...I'm a little behind...must buy more...must buy more......it's a disease & I'm addicted....
