Man you stole it for $400

Let's just say Easy Sale for a Grand+ and some asking $1,600 on Gunbroker for a NIB Colt WWII Rep.

No kidding, I'd be happy to dig up $400 to buy one right now if they've got any in stock.

So what do you mean by a WW2 Colt 1911 replica. Who made it and when was it made. If it is not an antique why not shoot it. Unless it was made during WW2 it really is not more then a cheap shooter.

That's still a good price for anything that says COLT on the slide.

This can't be from a shop, had to be private sale.

This is what I was thinking... but it is still a nice deal. I know its a stupid question but are you sure its a working, functional replica?

well .... being a replica I think I would have sold it for double or triple the money or just shoot it. No way I could NOT shoot it.

You see a lot of Replica firearms in catalogs such as 'Bud K' but they are not firable. they are made of potmetal and usually it says do not fire. That is why I asked in my previous post as to who made it and when was it made. If it was a working shootable gun then $400 is a good price and I would shoot it. A Norinco 1911A1 is a case in point, it is a copy but does not say Colt on it.
To me any gun that says Colt on it and is a truely working gun for $400 raises many questions to me about legality. Especially if there is more then one for that price.
