    Hard to advise w/o knowing what you have. Unless its a shorty-shotty, or has the s/n ground off, I'm always inclined to refurb, or sell for parts. (I sold the internals and frame of my P-22 for $90 on ebay). If it needs to be destroyed, go to Dollar-General, buy a 5# sledge hammer-$4; pick up a $10 Bernz-O-Matic propane torch at Wally's; heat the muzzle red hot, and pound it shut, on the garage floor. Repeat with the receiver. Put out with the week's garbage. No fault/no foul, unless local law mandates turn-in for destruction.
