I don't own the Thunderer 9 but have shoot one and the Thunderer 9 UC alot.
They seem to be a great bargin, but the mags are expensive and hard to find (pretty much have to order from Bersa). I know a couple of guys who run IDPA with them, they sem to run fine.

Lord, Grant me a good sword and no need to use it.
I have no experience with the thunder 9, but I do have a thunder 40. Has operated flawlessly for me. As pgrass101 said mags are expensive, but are available.
