Smile Help Questions - Hi Point - ATI

Hi to all, this is my first post and hopefully I might get the answer I need. I have just bought a Hi Point Carbine 9mm (995) and a ATI stock, I powder coated, the receiver cover, top rail, and polished the bolt, looks great so far, it's a fun little gun to shoot, and its a very good shooter too. I am waiting for the butt pad and the new scope and it's done, but does anyone know is there a cover or something that go's over the rectangle hole that in front of the trigger? in the hole is where the gun fastens to the stock!

There isn't a cover that goes there, as that would cover up the serial number.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

    Hi Point - ATI

Hi again to all my answer to your reply is so what, a cover could be made, so it could be easily removed for take down and a single screw that would go straight thru and connect to the screw hole in the bottom, and if covering up the serial numbers is a problem copy the numbers to the bottom of the cover.

Sorry, I thought you were trying to figure out if something was supposed to go there...Happy to hear you found a way to cover that up...Be sure to post pictures when you get it how you want it.

Maybe try Mighty Putty? I know, that's sort of a joke - but the idea has merrit.

If you're THAT concerned with plugging that up, you won't find a piece that doesn't require screws (which won't fit with the barrel right above), or some sort of glue.

If you want to make that stock permenant, I'm sure there's some sort of mateerial out there that you could fill it with - then sand over. Put a piece of tape over the serial number, then have at it!

(FYI, I have the exact same setup, butt pad and all - I just adjust my hand to hold further up the stock)
    Some people don't deserve saving.

    Plug

I made a plug from wood, then painted it black, the measurements are 3 inch long x 7/8 wide x 3/4 - 1/2 tapered bottom after I cut it, I ground off excess wood where it fits against the clip, after I drilled the screw hole, countersunk it took out 1/2 half inch screw, then after I was happy with the fit, I painted it, and reinstalled it, useing the hole that was already there except I used a one inch countersunk, black screw, work great, looks great.
