Should unlicensed gun dealers have to run background checks on buyers?

But how are they supposed to incite fear, paranoia, and mistrust if they phrase the question correctly?

I didn't think there was such a thing. The very label "dealer" indicates that they are more than just a casual person selling a personally owned weapon. I was under the impression that to be a gun "dealer" you had to be licensed.....

Well, I think all guns sold by “gun dealers” should have a background check. But a firearm sold from one “friend” to anther should not.

Did you happen to read some of the other “news” columns they where all anti gun

    Misleading poll...

I shouldn't need to get a background check of the private buyer of one of my firearms (although I wouldn't sell any anyway...)

The results are looking pretty crummy. I don't think anyone should have to get a background check. Its a fundamental right. If felons get guns, they should get shot committing their felonies, or executed, or stay in jail. They're going to get them anyhow - we don't need a BATFE at all....IMO

If you are registered on this site you might ask if private citizens should have to run background checks on buyers when they sell their used car? After all thousands of unlicensed illegal aliens are driving our roads every day. Four children where killed here in MN just a couple weeks ago under these circumstances. Who sold this person a car? Why aren't they worried about this?

It was my pleasure to vote no...Like havegunjoe said, nobody seems to care about cars...a 3000 lb weapon of mass destruction. Remember when that deranged guy ran over all those people in Californication? No one was whining "Where did he get the car!!!"
