    M&Ps, Fresh from the factory

Fresh from the factory, they arrived today!

My buddy is the NW Sales rep. for S&W and got me an incredible VIP deal on these two beauties.. They both came equipped with night sights and 3 mags.

    M&P 9c and M&P full size 45.

Tomorrow we're heading out to the range to give them a thorough testing.

That's sure a nice package. I just ordered a M&P .40 compact. From all my research, I expect good things from this pistol. I think you'll find they are outstanding. I'll look for your range report. Enjoy!

I own both. I really like the M&P 45 but I truly fell in love with the 9c. It is a perfect carry gun, 13 rounds of 9mm in a package the size of a model 36. Good trigger and very accurate. I have the same LEO package with the night sites and three mags. Add the rebate and 2 free mags for a total of 5 mags - what a great deal. Prepare to be spoiled.

hmmm... I assumed no, but I'm actually not sure. I only gave just over 1/2 what a gun store would charge for the two w/ night sights. Probably not but definitely can't hurt to ask. I didn't get any rebate paperwork though.. If not I can't complain - this VIP deal was awesome. To put these guns in my car and bring them home, the total cost was $780. That's both guns w/ night sights, shipping, transfer and background check fees.

I took them to the range today. Unfortunately, the pistol range was under construction for a new roof so had to take them to the 50 / 100 yard multi purpose range. The 45 was pretty darn accurate at 50 yards but out of 3 mags at the 100 yard target, I only put about 1/2 on the paper. Put about 150 rounds through it w/ no issues, shot great.

The 9c was pretty accurate at 50 yards too. Put about 200+ rounds through it and kept it on the paper. I didn't try the 100 yard target with it though. Put through it some Remington FMJs, Wolf Ammo and threw about 20 or so JHPs with no issues at all, shot great.

    Re: rebate

You can get the rebate paperwork on the S&W web site. All you need in addition is the sales receipt.

I would for sure print the rebate paperwork off and file it. My bet is you will get $100.00 back in addition to 4 extra mags total.

Does he have any word on the .45C release date? I have the "long-slide" like you, a compact sure would go along nicely with it...

No the deal is over. It ended 1/31/08.

I love my full size M&P 40. I have about 800 rds through it 0 failures.

The new one is until end of March. I sent in for mine two weeks ago when I purchased mine. I think the person who asked the qualifying question is referring to the OP's friend having ties to S&W.
