PSA: Check your ammo people! (non reloaders)

Mods, please move if you see fit.

I hit the range today to get some time in on my G19, Taurus PT111, and the Mossberg 590. As I was loading up a Glock mag I found this lil' puppy. Coulda been ugly, methinks.

I figure reloaders check their stuff. This is a warning is more for box buyers. This is Winchester White Box by the way. They were out of my favorite CCI Blaser Brass.

Any bullet set back ? I doubt that would have cycled, but best to find it before you get that far .

I had one just like that in a box of WWB ammo.

We always assumed that QC on factory ammo was "the best" . . . guess that has gone the way of the do-do bird.

No set back, I caught it before I put it in the mag. I am cleaning my Taurus as I type this, and I just tried sliding into the chamber. It wont go al the way in. However, I was shooting my Glock at the time, practicing 2-1 drills. I am wondering if the force of the slide coming back would have forced it into the chamber, if so, it would have been ugly, I think.

I have a habit of feeling the edges of the casing as im going along while im feeding the mag, so I caught it.

That round would probably not of fed,the top of case is crushed and so far out of specs action would of never closed. This goes to prove that even manufacturers have glitches, they produce thousands of rounds an hour and sometimes 1 gets by,even in SD stuff, this 1 was easy to spot but a round with a bad primer or no powder or overcharge of powder isn't.
