Its a tough choice without getting to try them; but based on the picture alone I'd have to say the VZ's.

Are the VZ's available yet? I have a pair of the Gunner's, and they are too "aggressive" to shoot comfortably for practice.

I don't think so, the website still says "Coming soon".

I'm leaning toward the VZ line, I've had nothing but good things to say about their 1911 grips, I was wanting to hera some feedback regarding the gunner grips texture, I'm sure they are nice and grippy, but they don't look overly comfortable for long range sessions, while my VZ230s will let me shoot in comfort for hours.

I tried really hard to like the Gunners, but they were just too aggressive, plus they tore up my cover garments. Funny, my two primary guns have Rogers Golfball treatment on both the front strap and MSH, but that doesn't bother me. I do love the VZ black blasted canvas Gator Grips. They provide a great hold wet or dry, and don't feel "hard" like G-10.

    Third option

Not to confuse the issue, but were you aware that aluminum grips for the Browning High Power are now available from the Alumagrips Company? These grip your hand very effectively but are not rough in texture so your cover garment is not damaged by them.

The VZs look better and I know they feel good on a 1911. I have no experience with Gunners but it does look aggressive. Still waiting for those pics!

I have a set of the Gunners and am very happy with them. Now, I have them on my retired 1911 that was only used with nomex flight gloves. I'm not sure how much I would like them for concealed carry for use with bare hands.

    Good news.

The VZ Hi Power grips are available for order over the phone, they are G10 and come in two patterns, the slanted grooves (pictured in post #1) and in Diamond Back. I did not ask about other colors , but mine are going to be black. I should hopefully have them by this weekends range trip and I'll be sure to post pictures.
