    Lonesome Dove guns

I think they did a good job in making Lonesome Dove and to me it's one of the best "western" movies ever made. I've been meaning to watch it again and try to identify the various guns used in the movie. I haven't re-watched it yet, but I think that both Rangers used repro. Walker Colts in the movie?

Another thing I've been wondering is about the time that Gus had to kill his horse and use it for protection. What type of rifle did he use in that scene where he shot one of the BG's in the belly from long-range. My memory makes me think it was some sort of Henry?

Am I right? Any other identifiable guns that you can think of?

Never saw the movie, so no help there - the books are great tho! Pretty accurate as the books progress (four!)

You're correct, it was a Henry copy.

In the "Other Identifiable Guns" category, Gus carried an 1847 Walker Colt pistol.
