This is a discussion on Strange guns in the desert within the General Firearm Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; We had a shiprider on the other day and he brought some sort of H&K. All I can tell u is that it's SUPER heavy ...
Being a H&K, it's probably all steel including the hanguards. Nice looking SBR though.
I'm going to try and take pictures off all the guns I run across here. All the Iraqi's carry folding stock AK's. I saw an admiral with a Steyr Aug.
Interesting. Might be surprised with what comes out of the woodwork there. When you see something like that out of the ordinary, most likely the owner sleeps with it. Yes--I for one would like to see pics of those out of the ordinary weapons you come across. Thanks for sharing.
The last three pictures are the Brit's SA80. it's a bullpup design. 5.56mm

Yep--and it is an HK. They re-designed the gun after Enfield bolluxed it up (Enfield acquired HK in the aftermath of the OICW debacle). Everything I've heard has been bad--heavy, poor balance, but at least it's reliable (now).
