I have 2 Rossi's both are before Taurus bought them.
Both have about a 15# DA trigger
I have a recent manufacture Rossi 461, 2" .357. Seen quite a bit of use, and I'm happy with it, fit and finish isn't the greatest, but isn't awful. Works everytime, no real issues with it at all. I don't regret the cash I paid for it.
I EDC a Rossi 461, nice shooter and very accurate
I have owned several of the Taurii in the past and they have performed well
my other EDC is a Sig 226
Side by side the Taurus fit and finish is nicer. At the same price point I'd buy the Taurus.
95% happy with my Rossi .357.
--- and the other 5% stems from the fact I bought a blued revolver, when I should have gotten a stainless.
Several thousand rounds, not a single screwup. Very tight lockup, and strikes center every time. Gun's also extremely consistent on the bench, and more accurate than I am in single-action. (4-inch)
Note: Double action pull is pretty heavy... but single-action pull is extremely light... on the order or 2-3 lbs.
In all... a decent revolver at a kickass price.
I have a Rossi M971 stainless .357 I bought 13 years ago. The fit and finish is very good. It has had quite a few rounds put through it over the years and I am still very happy with it.
I have a Rossi 971 I got before the Taurus take over 20+ years ago. Great gun. I also just bought a Rossi 462 2", like it alot great pocket gun. And my love a Taurus pt1911. I have carried all three concealed and fell quite comfortable with them.
I am happy with the fit & finish and the accuracy of my Taurus 85 J frame .38 ultra-lite. Really can't beat it for the money......:image035:
Only Rossi I have ever owned (or even looked at) was a 12ga Coach Gun (with hammers). It was OK as I recall, but the insides of the lockworks were kinda rough. I actually never shot it, so, I don't know how functional it was.
I have a Rossi M88 .38, it has went bang every time I've pulled the trigger. It's not a smith but it works.
