Low bore axis is closer to the plane of the grip/trigger, and therefore more favorable-in less perceived recoil, faster follow-up, and better accuracy----usually. The higher the bore axis away from the best engineered axis--the more muzzle rise and recoil may be felt generally speaking.

If you enjoy the painful bite into the web of your hand, the almost uncontrollable climb after that round, the precious seconds that count off waiting to acquire your target after you fire, you will love the Hi-Axis weapon.
Let us know how it works out for you.

Are there a few Semi-Auto's that come to mind as far as fitting the low bore axis catagory. The caliber I am referring to would be .45acp.

    Thanks,
    Dave

So much to research, and I don't wish to be biased in any way, but if you type this into your Google search bar 'low bore axis pistols', you could do some of your own research.

Sure. That's what I did, and alot of the links lead to forum discussions about the facts, and we all know what discussions can sometimes lead to--arguments. Just didn't want to get that started. I know I sounded kind of blunt about doing your own research. Don't want to come across as brash or anything although I've been know to now and then.

I was not aware that the SA XD was considered a low bore axis a long with the Kahr, according to their respected websites. I know the Glock was so that did not surprise me. I used to own a G21 and there is a difference with my current Sig P220. The G21 had more of a push straight back whereas my Sig P220 had a bit of a muzzle flip.
