I think I answered this one too hastily. I chose "No", but after reading how it was stated, I should have chosen "Yes". I was under the impression of leaving another magazine with you gun, in addition to what you normally carry. When I remove my gun from my holster for the evening, the extra magazine I've been carrying all day goes on the night stand with it.

I have a little square basket that all my EDC gear goes into with my keys and wallet Etc....
But then when I'm standing there and it takes the better part of a commercial break to disarm, I always get some kind of look or even a comment from my wife about having so much stuff. Well, I haven't progressed to the man bag yet, so I don't let it bother me.

Yes, when I use an autoloader for home defense, otherwise I keep two speedloaders loaded and ready to go with my revolver.

I can think of more reasons why I might need one in the night than during the day!

I usually have several nearby, but that probably has more to do with the fact that I have more mags than I know what to do with.
An early broomhandle Mauser, maybe?
What kind of guns do you have that use clips?

I keep my carry gun and the two spare mags I carry with it along with my Remington 870 12 gauge loaded with 2 3/4" 00 buckshot.

25 speed loaders velcroed to the headboard of my bed, with my .500 s&w (and a n identical backup) duct taped to my hand, loaded.
Then I've got an AR on either side of the bed in my custom built sideboard hangers, each with 10 mags, and bayonets.
I've also got a few AA-12 auto shotties in the corner as well.
That is... if they get through the extensively booby trapped doors and hallways, the 5 mantraps, and 4 pitbulls strategically placed on the property.
I do keep a spare mag on hand.
