Guns we have sold that we truly miss!
Back in the late 70s I purchased my first hand gun. A S&W Model 629 Classic 7-1/2” barrel (44 mag with an aim point site) I had to trade it off for some septic system work in the mid 90s. Darn I loved shooting that gun. What a rush. Not worth anything for self defense except if I could get 10 gad guys to line up in a row at my door. Great Deer gun though and just plain fun to shoot. Didn’t even have to clean up the mess when I hit those red squirrels in the yard. Just not much left to even pick up. I do miss that gun.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

Cogswell & Harrison Side Lock 12 Gauge.
When my wife had her stroke, we lost about 1/3 our income, with two kids in college, and I sold a bunch.
Right decision. No regrets.
But, from time to time, I do think about my Cogswell & Harrison Side Lock 12 Gauge.

My new one (milled slide) stinks.

I don't really have any guns I miss dearly, but I did have a Taurus 617 that I sold because it was the very gun I used to prevent a drunk guy from stabbing me to death, and it brought back bad memories every time I looked at it.
Looking back on it, I sometimes wish I still had it, just to be able to thank it for being in the right place at the right time.

4" Colt Diamondback, 788 Remington 6mm w/scope, 1100 lt 20, 10/22 w/scope, Remington 22 built on Browning patent. Sold them all at the same time.
A few yrs later, I gave all of the reloading equipment to a friend.
Isn't it amazing what we are capable of in a moment of stupidity?

I sold my first new revolver. It was a Rossi 462 that I kept by my bed in an apartment. Still miss that revovler. It was surprisingly smooth for a Rossi. Then I sold a little Colt Mustang. Ugh. Next, I pawned my glock 22. Big mistake and a terrible deal. Came time to get the thing out of hock and I did not have the funds. I still kick myself for that one.
Will likely never sell another gun.

I sold two back in the early 1970's that still haunt me today. The first was a NIB S&W Model 29 with a 5" barrel, in the case with all the tools. The second was a nickle S&W Model 10 with a 4" heavy barrel in .357mag (the gun lettered as a .357).

My BIG Mistake...
Sold the FIRST pistol that I had ever owned...a H&R (Harrington/Richardson) .22LR (9 shot). Traded it in on my first carry pistol, and I have both regretted and missed that little fella' that I had had for over 3 decades...dumb, dumb, dumb...but I didn't have the same appreciation for pistols eight years ago that I now have...
It was a great gun and holds many of my early firearm memories.

DA/SA, 5 3/4 inch barrel, top-break, squared-up grip, target "special"?
If so, lots of fond memories here, too.
