    UNBELIEVABLY fast reloading!!!

Wow. I stumbled across this clip of Travis Tomasie demonstrating his amazing skill at reloading. I've seen some pretty fast guys, and I don't know if he can do this in a stress situation, but now I've got something to work toward, knowing full well that I'll never get there...

I truly doubt he could do it that fast under extreme stress, however if he is only half that fast, he still has me beat.

My martial arts instructor just made SSP Master in IDPA. The last match, he didn't really shoot that fast, but when he did a slide-lock reload, there was a collective pooping of the pants from the people who were watching. This was without any cavernous mag well on an Open IPSC gun, either.

And, embarrassing for me, his reload-with-retention is faster than my slide-lock reload.

The reloading isn't what impressed me the most. It was his ability to lock on his sight after the fact that got me to raise my eyebrows. Watch the frontal view - how he returns to his shooting position with EXACT precision.

That leads me to believe that he CAN do this under stress. - And the fact that he's obviously in the armed forces - and not just a civ prepping for dooms day.

I've seen him do it in person at an IPSC match. Travis is ridiculously good at reloading, shooting, transitioning... just about everything. He is truly one of the best out there.

A couple of local guys do something similar. One guy is in his 60's and the other is in his mid 30's. They load two mags with with one round in each. They load one mag in the weapon. The clock starts at the sound of the first shot, they then drop the empty mag and load the second mag and close the slide and fire the second round which stops the clock. The second mag has to be in a pocket or a mag holder on the belt, it can't be in the hand when the first round is fired. The older guy does in .63-.68 seconds, while the younger one is about a 1/10 of a second slower which drives him crazy. Talk about impressive to see!
