I have 4 lever guns, two 30-30s, one 25-35, one 44mag- all winchester
The 44 mag has never been shot it is still in the box.
I am looking for 45-70, 38-40, 25-20, 38-55, 44-40. hopefully when I find a rifle I like I'll have the money. By the way I like lever guns of all types makes and models.

Don't worry Euc- you're not completely alone. I don't have a lever gun or a .30-30. (It's almost like I feel my right to be called a man being stripped away.... )

    raevan,

Which 25-35 do you have, an older Winchester or one of the currently manufactured models?

Keep the 1894 over the 336(well,maybe if it was a .35).For "rifle" cal. levers I'd much rather have, and hunt with, one in .35. I own several levers and they all shoot great. Everybody should own at least one lever. Some of them are very accurate. (Picture how they lock up) I own a Marlin 1894S "Marlin Limited". This was a special run for Davidsons. It was produced in 1996,has a unported 16"bbl.and came in .44 Mag. This is my premier very thick brush, hog killin',weapon. Also the lever actions are a "piece of cake" to do a action job on. Theycome out unbelieveably slick. Also remember that the Marlin levers that come in pistol cal's. are the short stroke type of weapons. I can operate the lever on my 1894 with my two fingers while keeping the other two on the stock. Very fast. Keep the 1894. Do, or have done, a action job and hunt with/shoot the weapon. You'll be glad you did.----------

Preaching to the choir RSSZ! I love a levergun. The only reason I'm looking at an AR15 next year is I want one before they're illegal. I figure I'll have more chances at more leverguns but never another chance at the AR15.

My 25-35 is one of the olkder ones with an octegon barrel, is a full rifle. It has always been a good varmit rifle for brush country. Still accurate even with the pitting in the barrel. Ammo is expencive though. I hope now that they are manufacturing them again there might be more ammo available and cheaper. I would like to get one of the new ones , and save the old one as a collector piece.

I'm not a fan of top ejectors myself. Does that stem from you being left handed too Bud? I know my Marlin throws them out at an angle that might hit someone in the face if they fired it the other way.
