What do you guys use for ear protection and why?
I am looking for something that will allow me to hear the quieter sounds around me (for hunting) but block the loud bang of a firearm.
A radio would be nice, but not required.![]()

I wear the ProTac II great sound dampening and stereo mics for picking out sound left or right, helps to determine which side it is coming from.
Ear Muffs are comfy on it as well.
Best price I found was Optics Planet.
Peltor Tac 6S, one of the best around.

I had seen those Peltor headsets- they looked pretty nice, just never heard of them before.
Outdoor range just my S&W earplugs, indoor range earmuffs and sometimes earplugs too if there are a lot of shooters on the line. +1 on Peltor headsets, a few of my friends have them and swear by 'em.
God bless our troops!
Peltor as well.....that way you can have a conversation if you're not alone & hear a timer beep easily.

Definitely another vote for the Peltors. My wife and I both use em and can carry on a conversation on a very active range without having to yell. They're also quite comfy to wear for extended periods of time.

Here's what I use.
Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.: E09/6S PELTOR 6S EARMUFFS & BATTERIES
They work great and aren't too bad for the price.
I have a set of electronic muffs from Radians that work quite well. I also use the EarPro EP-3 earplugs from the SureFire site... (Indoors I use both, outside one or the other.)

Anyone have any experience with Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Earmuff
I have a set of these and they are fantastic! Light & comfortable too!
