JD came over today and helped me de-palletize the new safe. It's a Cannon Oxbow from Bud's Gun Shop - I paid $799 shipped to my garage.
Here it is sitting in place and level - as of yet unbolted (and still empty).
And opened... it's a 24 gun model (either 22 or 23 cubic feet, I forget offhand).
Here's our puppy, Althea, inspecting the interior...
... and here she is ready to get out!
I've got to say thanks to JD for coming by after work to help me shuffle it around the garage, but it's only fair - I helped him schlep his up three flights of stairs!
That's a nice safe..

Glock27/ KaBar TDI/ MTAC Holster. I have more also, but this combination works well..
Awsome. Congrats! And nice pooch!

I'm not pro gun, I'm pro rights. What are you?
Another smart gun owner...bought a safe!
Now the dog?... My 125# Rhodesian would say, "It's what for dinner!"

Very nice! I have a safe but it's not a very nice one. I'd like to have something nice so I can add my touch of decor to our living room. ;)
One of the "diciplines" I had to learn was to make sure the safe was locked when leaving the house. A couple of times, we left the house and the safe was not locked.
So to help remind myself that the safe was unlocked/opened, I took an old green T-shirt and cut a strip from it and tacked it to the inside of the safe door
Now when I unlock the safe, I just throw over the top of the door the "green flag" which tells me that the safe is open, even when the door is closed. So if we walk out of the bed room, with just a glance, I can tell if I need to lock the safe..this works really well.

A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.
I didn't even get to meet your puppy yet! He looks very confused to be in such a big box..lol.
Glad that JD was able to go over and help. It was good for me too, it gave me a chance to get a little bit more of a nap before he came home..lol
It looks nice! Now you can get all the guns the wife said you couldn't get till you had a safe.
