Talking Took a self-proclaimed Liberal shooting tonight

I took a woman who is a self-proclaimed liberal to the range tonight. However, the more I talked to her, the more I believe she isn't really a liberal but a Libertarian.

I've known her for a little while now. Just in the last couple of weeks have I really spoken with her and gotten to know her better. She found out that my co-workers in the shop and myself are all gun guys and we all have our carry permits. She then told us she'd love to go shooting sometime.

So tonight was the night. We went to RangeUSA and shot for about an hour and then we all attended the TFA (Tennessee Firearm Association) meeting that was held there for the month of June.

While shooting I was pretty sure she may have a sore face tomorrow from smiling so much. She had a great time and says she now wants to buy a Glock 26 and get her carry permit. I think that is great and I am happy she now in interested in taking her own protection seriously.

I wish I had taken my digital camera with me and gotten a few pics. She really had a good time and she shot very well too.

Great job and a great ending.

Most excellent! That's just about the best way to win someone over that I've found. It's actually quite empowering for someone to see that it's they who are in control -- not the firearm.

Maybe we should have a national "Take an Anti to the Range Day".

That actually sounds like a good idea.

That's quite the slide across the political spectrum.

My wife thought she was a democrat. I then asked her what her position was on about 10 major issues...she realized she's not even close. :) It was funny for me.

Great story, way to go !

Shooting is fun for any political persuasion. I's just that many don't know it yet. Those of you that know me from this forum know I'm a democrat...very pro 2A, and also keep trying to "convert" my friends.

One by one, maybe they'll get the message.

    Good work!

that is a great story...I have not met too many people that go to the range and have a bad time...it is getting them there that is usually the hard part...

I have always found that taking a liberal or a person that just has never been exposed to shooting out to a gun range makes them a changed person. We have let a couple of generations grow up without them going hunting and/or being able to go shoot somewhere in the country. We have become so busy trying to get ahead in the world that we have forgotten out kids. Now guys I know that not the case of the people here but just in general. I am amazed at how many young people have never touch a gun.

Excellent job! I suspect your observation on liberal/Libertarian applies to a lot of people (along with conservative/Libertarian too).

All you have to do is figure out which side of the shooting line that particular anti really belongs on.
