mike, unless your state or city requires a lock- no, they aren't worth it. A cable lock would still be my choice, as should the lock mechanism become fouled/disabled, you can cut it off.
There are too many reasons why no internal locking device should ever be installed (unless enforced by commie law), but one that has not been mentioned yet is the potential for the mechanism to malfunction, becoming locked while you need it to be unlocked. Your finger (though some will say your brain) is the only true safety device. Keep it off the trigger if you don't want the loud noise and destruction to occur.
