Any specific reason for this comment???"

The Mk3 has a magazine safety. It adds complexity and has a negative impact on trigger pull. They just aren't as clean/crisp as the Mk2.

My Mk2 6+7/8 slabside on the bottom, my dad's Mk2 Bull on the top. We shot them in the NRA gallery league and did pretty darned well.

I have a Beretta Neos with a 7 1/2 " barrell and a Bushnell red dot sight. I have put probably 10000 + rounds through it and have had no problems. I generally shoot 400-600 rounds per trip to the range. Actually the only issue I have noticed is when I do shoot for an extended period, the mags have a tendency to bind. Also realize though I have cleaned this gun maybe 4 times since new. So any binding is probably due to my lack of maintenance. Amazingly fun gun to shoot though.

My daughter and I haven't put but one range trip's ammo total through ours, by Major99's standards, but we like ours a lot, too. It has a slightly different grip angle and shape, which fit my daughter's hand nicely, and it also already has a rail on top for a red-dot sight if that's something you want.

    Thanks for the info everybody!!!

I'm going to have to check out what the local range has for rentals... they have a lot of gun, but I have never looked for a 22 yet... currently I'm leaning toward the Ruger 22/45 MKIII 5 1/2"... I think I can get it for close to $310 + tax... I'll have to shoot one before I'll buy it though (lesson learned).

Thanks everybody for the input... I called a good local gunshop and asked for the price of a KP512MKIII... they said they could order one, but they had a used MKII for sale... he told me the price... I had to take a look...

It was in fantastic condition... very, very little wear... it had only a couple hundred rounds put through it, and was traded in on a larger revolver... for the price I could not pass it up. Here is my new addition:

    fatboy97,

That's a pretty nice looking pistol there, but I'm pretty sure it's a 22/45 instead of a MkII. I've tossed around the idea of one, because it's got the same goodness as a Standard Auto/MkI/II/III plus the added bonus of a grip meant to mimick the 1911.

Congrats on the new addition! Be sure to let us know how it shoots.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

I just got back from the range... very nice... most of my shoots were taken from about 21 feet, but I did take a few from about 40-45 feet. I was able to keep most of my groupings of 10 to 3-5 inches even during rapid fire, and I had a couple groupings as small as 2 inches. This should improve with time, but a pretty good start.

I was impressed with the gun... good feel, and very reliable... 200 shots with only FTE.
