A 9mm might expand but a .45 will never shrink enough to fit 17 in the magazine.
The pattern isn't my cup-o-tea, but I gotta say it is neat and a clean looking job.

Workmanship looks very good. If you lay the pistol down in the wrong place, you might not find it again
