I loved my P22, but I felt like it was a tad too small to be fun. I would hold each and get the one that feels better.
Both are excellent choices BTW.
Try out a FireStorm .22 while you are at it.

I love the Walther P99. However - the P22 can be a mixed bag. They seem to have gotten some of the bugs out. When the P22 first came out, it had tons of problems.
Be aware that the P22 has a zinc slide - so the metal isn't that durable. Walther doesn't actually make the gun, either - it just has the Walther name on it.
The Beretta is a lot better gun between the 2 you mentioned!
