    NCStar holographic sight = Trash!

Sold a used and non-working CMag BetaMag for AR-15 while at the gun show today. I used the money to purchase one of those cheap NCStar holosights for my AR-15. While it initially appears to be well built for what it cost, I am afraid that my fears have come to light.

I mounted the sight on my AR-15 flat top, started to make some initial windage/elevation adjustments just to get the reticle close enough to start the zero process, and it happened. The detent for the windage adjustment screw let loose or broke and it doesnt "detent" anymore. No "click" which means nothing holding tension on the adjustment screw.

I bet it wont hold a zero now. It does have a lifetime warranty though so I guess I will have to send it off.
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

I hate to say it but I have never had any NC star optics that would hold a zero,I bought a scope with illuminated reticle and thought I got a good deal, mounted it on an AR10 and everytime I shot the zero moved,I took it off and threw it in the trash then bought a quality scope,no more nc star optics for me,might be ok for a bb gun or paintball

I also hate to say it but, they are not Holographic sights.
    They are Holographic "style" sights.
    They are not Hologram image.
They are in no way related to an EoTech Holographic Sight.

When dealing with optics you get what you pay for.

Yep, and I knew it when I bought it. Oh well, you gotta get that kick in the pants occasionally just to learn the lesson.

The "cheapest" ones I found that have "survived " so far are TruGlos. I will go higher but never lower. I spent monies on cheap stuff that after a couple of mags rattled like maracas and did not aim for crap.

NCSTAR anything = Junk!! If you want a awesome optic for your AR check out the Bushnell copy of the ACOG, it isn't a cheap china copy. It is a very good optic for around $150. I have it on my DPMS sweet 16 and it is a tack driver at 100-150 yards, probably a lot further haven't tried it though.
