Angry My gunshop was broken into

I found out an hour ago that my favorite gun shop was broken into early Monday morning. They disabled the alarms busted through 3 steel doors probably with a crow bar.
And broke the glass in the display cases and stole 30 handguns .

If that doesn't burn I don't know what will! Thats tragic! I sincerely hope they catch to thieves and that those guns can be recovered, but the likelihood of that happening is probably very slim.

usually even if they catch the crooks the guns are long gone and almost impossible to recover, one thing about crooks they can take their time looking for any weakness in your security and exploit it in a matter of a few minutes.I have a cousin had a gunshop in the mid 70's somebody broke in and stole over 10,000 in weapons he had no insurance on,It put him out of business

Wow. All the gun shops I know of around here lock up all the handguns in a vault at closing, and the rifles are cabled.

More guns get stolen from gun stores then from private citizens. Gun stores are typically well secured, but then again, there are limits on how well you can secure them. It says above that they broke through 3 steel doors.

This may indicate that the store is setup to use the dispaly room as "vault".

One strategy to secure a gun store would be to slow down the intruder enough so police could arrive in time. But then again: They disabled the alarm system in this case. I wonder how. For example, for my home alarm system I have a radio-backup transmitter in case someone cuts the phone line, and security camera images are sent off-site in real time.

I Stopped back in there to day for a few minuets. 4 out of 5 display cases all glass broken in the front not on top . They are closed today and probably until further notice because of cleanup and itemizing serial numbers . My guess is this was preplanned but when they cut the alarm system the cameras kept running. Now we'll see if they catch them . merlin45kout

The idiocy of reporters never ceases to astonish me.

She said, "Weapons similar to these, .22s., .38s, .45s, and Glocks, all missing."

Either the reporter can't properly put together a thoughful sentence or she thinks Glocks is a caliber.

Wow. That is 2 gun store in 2 days. The gun store right down from my apartment that is a class III dealer was broke into yesterday. The news would not say what the crooks got if anything. I believe they have a vault for all their suppressors and pistols but i don't know about the rifles.
