Euc, you are just not in the target demographic for this type of advertising. I think a lot of us here are not in the target demographic. The target seems to be someone under 25 years old.

The marketing folks will go after their demographic whatever they have to do. Their research shows that this sort of ad will work on a majority of the target market. So there you go.

I am just best guessing that the Extreme Shock type advertising would not help a defensive shooter very much in the ol' court room.
Heck...that could possibly knock over a bucketload of wiggling worms.

Sometimes, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to struggles against the anti-gun crowd.

Back when the FN 5.7 was new, Guns and Ammo featured it on the cover with large bold type about defeating body armor, IIRC. Of course, the AP ammo is restricted, but the cover made it look like this was just the thing for shooting those pesky SWAT guys.....

Advertisers and publishers just don't seem to think of how these ads and covers look to someone who is already trying to see the worst in them.

Perhaps their target demograpic is those people who not only have a CCW ticket but have the CCW badge also.

By the way, would you be giving a pass to the ad with "Old Gunny" in it if you hadn't seen R. Lee Ermy in Full Metal Jacket or watched him on Mail Call on The History Channel?

There's a reason The Sopranos is set in New Jersey.

Oh, come on. I need tactical accessories for my new tactical GI Joe Green Sig Mosquito.

I don't want to be last year's mall ninja.

But he was actually in the service. I know his rank of Sargeant is honorary but he was actually in there.

Its just marketing. The problem is that it works.

Doesnt matter - that thing is comfortable. I dont have one, but I did sleep on one (I still prefer an old fashoined spring mattress for, uh, extracurricular activites).

Ermey served 11 years active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. He rose to the rank of staff NCO, served two years as a drill instructor and a tour of duty in Viet Nam. Medically retired in 1971.

    Euc,

This ad is right out of the comics...it's truly sad that they think of an armed citizen in this way. Little wonder the anti-gunners want to rid the world of all types of arms...

Most people don't understand our military or Leo agencies the movies have really screwed people up. They don't understant that professionalism is drilled intoany soldier and leo, and although you may have some macho let's kill them all types, for the most part they are low key and unassuming until needed.
