I really enjoy the S&W J-frame revolvers. I have the fever again and need to choose between a used 337 Airlite Ti (no lock), new 642 (no lock), or the Model 37 (bobbed hammer and no lock). Should I ride it out or buy and be prepared for the inevitable post-purchase car repair that rears its ugly head?:haha::1clogefahren:
I am partial to stainless steel S&W revolvers. So my choice would be a Smith 640 or 649 but the 642 is surely hard to resist. The low weight is going to make it pretty snappy though. How about the 6-shot Police Undercover from Charter Arms?
The 642 Airweight is my first gun, and I love it. I've read only good reviews on this gem. I would not hesitate to recommend it over any other carry revolver.
Fever broke. My plan to sell a Hi-Power fell through to finance another snubbie collapsed. Oh well, there is always another fever in the display case. John
Just in case things change, I just bought a 642 with no lock, so that's my vote backed up by my recent purchase. My need was front pocket carry in shorts.
The 642 is great for all day pocket carry. True, it is a bit snappy, but with range ammo, it is not that bad at all,
