What are the 70% FNH military small arms that are advertised?

FNH frequently advertises that it sells 70% of the military small arms sold world wide. However, they never specify what these small arms are. I am confident that these small arms are not the pistols used in the advertisements.

Does anyone know what the makeup is for the 70%?

FN makes some of the M4s in use, as well as the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and the M240 General Purpose Machine Gun. These three weapon systems account for the vast majority of the individual weapons in use by US forces.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I suspected it was something like that. However, the advertisement suggests that the FNH pistol displayed in the advertisements is among the 70% ( to those who don't know better), when in reality the pistol in the advertisements may well be -0- %.

    Deceptive advertising?

Not really, they are just advertising that they make weapons that are apparently high quality and reliable so you should have that same faith in their civilian lineup of weapons

You, I, and many of the readers on this site are well aware that the pistols used by the U.S. military are not made by FNH. However, for those who never served in the military, or who have no idea, I suggest that the advertisements unquestionably suggest that the military is using pistols made by FNH. Perhaps persons other than you and I will have a different take on this.

FN makes M16s not M-4s, I believe Colt makes all the M-4s. Soon they will be supplying the SCAR rifle as well as the light machine guns and M16s. They are amajor supplier of U.S. small arms to be sure.

Some of FN's pistols are in use overseas. Holland I think uses them.

I thought HK made the M240? Is FN just manufacturing them under license?

Here's some of what FN is making:

M2- .50BMG (Ma Duece), I think they are the sole maker left....
    MINIMI- 5.56 & 7.62 (8 variants) Light machine guns
    MAG- 7.62 heavy machine gun
    FN2000- bullpup design 5.56mm
    SCAR-L 5.56 assault rifle (2 versions)
    SCAR-H 7.62 assault rifle (2 versions)
    P90- 5.7mm PDW (8 variants)
    Five Seven handguns- 5.7mm
    HP- 9mm (High Power)
    FNP9- 9mm (8 variants)
    SLP- 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun
Grenade Launchers- (4 variants, for SCAR,FN2000 & also stand alone)

They also make a boat load of airborne, seaborne & vehicle weapons & almost all the mounts for everybody else's weapons.

Don't forget about ammo....they make a bunch of that as well.....

No, this is and has been an FN design. It is based very closely on the FN MAG.

And yes, I mis-spoke on the M4; it is indeed the M16s that FN makes some of.

Think about the M16. They won the M16A2 contract in the 80s, and have been cranking them out to every branch of the service ever since. Oh yah also in the 80s, every platoon gets a SAW. So start with that. Now sprinkle the newer 7.62 machine guns. They put a hurting on Colt, or did Colt put a hurting on themselves $$$?
