    M&P Performance Center Action Package

My M&P 9mm full size's trigger is very hard to pull. I've only put 100 rounds through it, dry fired quite a bit and it's still hard to pull! I even pulled the sear assembly removed and polished the sear and trigger bar contact points and that helped maybe drop 1/2 lb or so. Then I got to thinking I might have a M&P with the Massachusetts compliant 10 pound trigger. I google the product # and sure enough thats what I got!

Called S&W's performance center and the rep (Jeff) was kind of surprised I bought this new in South Carolina. There mailing me overnight shipping labels and it's going back for there action package. Polished Ramp, Tuned Action, Performance Center Sear, test Fire for Function and 5 days or less express service. $169.00

Ill update for those interested in S&W's action package on the M&P.

[rant] Thank you Massachusetts and your #10 trigger BS!
I know I bought the darn thing my fault...
but how did their trigger get to SC? [/rant]

Yep theres nothing wrong with the pistol itself but accuracy is off due to the hard trigger pull. So no warranty issue here.

Be sure to give us a report when you get it. It would be interesting to know if the package was worth the extra money.

Well since you bought it in South Carolina and it was made for Massachusetts, I would expect them to at least give a discount. If you are happy though, that is all that matters. If the trigger is any where near as smooth as the one on the Performance Center 951 I had, you will be very satisfied.

Yes the sear assembly is the same for the full size and the compacts in 9 & 40.

    here are a couple links

S&W will warranty there work but not anyone else's

    S&W Performance Center

    Dan Burwell Gunsmithing

Dan has better pricing and probably dose more M&P triggers than anyone.
But he is one hard guy to get a hold of... maybe on vacation?

    Shadow,

Thanks for the post. I have a M&P .40c and am thinking about a full size. I'd sure like to hear what you think of the work. Be sure to post a follow-up. Thanks again.

Personally, I would send it to Dan Burwell and explain what happened. He could probably get it done up pretty sweet, better then what Smith is going to do and better then a regular stock M&P. Just my .02

I've emailed Dan and sent a PM over at M&P forums and still no answer. I received the shipping labels from S&W today and going to ship next week a day before I go on vacation so I can be home when it ships back. So I have a week to get in touch with Dan... and if not off to Smith it goes. I'm going to put a note with it to return all my old parts so I can do the sear myself that Dan has instructions to on his site.

Since your state doesn't require the 10 pounder, I wonder if Smith would be willing (Charge of course) to change out the pieces to make it the same as most before they tune it up?
