I'm going to be flying to Oregon towards the end of this month, I have a friend that lives out there and he has ton's of guns.
My question is this, Since I'm CCW in Oklahoma and Oregon doesn't recognize our CCW in there state, would I be able to bring a gun back with me from that state?
I'm hoping to talk him into giving me (GUN) one since we know each other since we were 6 yrs old.:twak:
You didn't specify longgun or handgun, but if it's the latter, the answer is no.
A handgun would have to be transferred from an OR FFL dealer to an OK FFL dealer. You would take possession from the OK dealer, fill out the form 4473 and pass the NICS check, plus pay any fees the dealers may charge for the use of their licenses.
I don't know if your Oregon friend can legally give you, an Oklahoma resident, a longgun as a gift.
Is this true? Couldn't he just go to a gun shop in OR, transfer the ownership, then check it as baggage (in proper container, declared, etc.)?
To OP: AFAIK, the CCW only pertains to carry status, not ownership*. So you couldn't *carry* in OR.

* Although at least here in WA, a valid state CCW will allow you to avoid a waiting period when purchasing new. At least this was the case when I last purchased.

Do this rules also apply to someone that is going to another state and hunt? do you have to get some special permit?

I think this is only about the transfer of ownership. If you legally own the weapon, legally transport the weapon to the state, and abide by all the laws and rules in the state* (including whatever hunting permits you might need), you should be OK.Quote:

So, according to CC, #1 is 'no', #2 might be OK, #3 is 'no' (according to your post), #4 might be OK.
In terms of *how* you transport your firearm it depends on how you are travelling. If by air, this is allowed, simply follow the TSA rules AND the rules of the specific airlines you are taking.
