    Got my USMC brother coming out this weekend

    My bro is coming out to visit this weekend. I plan to take him shooting after some sight seeing. He is Marine Corp - SEMPER FI, and stationed in DC. He loves guns (obviously), but being my brother, we revert back to being 15 years old when together. We're both goof balls, but i know that now i cannot take that route, esp. with him in my home.

    He will be staying in my Guestroom ( my office) where i store all of my ammo and arms (aside from my side arm). I don't have reason to not trust him, but are there any precautions i should take? I rarely have people over, esp. sleeping in my guestroom.

    When ever a Marine comes to visit, you need to hide four things;

    Guns, Booze, Women and Livestock.

    Kidding aside, I'd take them out. Not because of a trust issue, but simply to make more room for my guest.

    But not necessarily in that order.......

    Tell him thanks for serving from an older, less lean, less mean former Marine.

    He's been in combat. I think he's got his bonafides with respect to combat implements. Don't wake him up wearing a table cloth on your head, offer cous cous and falafel for breakfast, and try to work the phrase "Snake and nape, on your pos" into a sentence at least once a day. He'll feel right at home. <g>

    i dropped him off at the airport this morning. we had a good time. Took him to see the hoover dam, we went shooting in the desert at twilight (nothing like the hum of AK's). He came to church with us, hiking then i took him to the top of the stratosphere, then we played blackjack together.

    It was a good time.

    The Stratosphere at night is a great adrenaline rush. Glad it was a nice visit!

    You certainly would know your brother better than any of us.

    If it were my brother, I would not have the least concern. On the other hand, my brother never served in the Marines.
