I have wanted to get the kel tec AR-15
pistol for awhile now. Any owners out
there with reviews of the gun?
Think it would be cool to attach a front
pistol grip on it and put in my 100rd beta mag

I think you cannot legally attach a forward grip or it is considered a AOW by the ATF. (unless you get a stamp). The Keltec is a different model/ op system than the AR type guns out there as well.

Here's a link to what I think you're referring to, it takes AR mags and is classified a pistol.

Kel-Tec PLR-16 5.56mm NATO/.223 Cal. Pistol
I purchased a PLR-16 earlier this year. They’re fun to plink with and mine has been reliable, but they have limited application and can be expensive to shoot. You can go through a good deal of 5.56 or .223 ammunition very quickly. To me it’s more of a novelty item. The small footprint makes it very concealable, but I wouldn’t call it suitable for HD. They have a very LOUD report and firing one inside your home would probably cause some immediate hearing loss. Check out the range report and video at Jeff Quinn web site. :)

I dunno, maybe with the right IWB holster . . . and some very large pants . . .

Forward VERTICAL grip is a no-no. The barrel shroud as pictured is fine.
I bought mine just to get one before they're banned.

There is a significant decrease in ammo performance from the short barrel. We did some wet newspaper testing with interesting results, FMJs tumbled but did not have the energy to break apart like the rifle, HPs that fragmented from the rifle did not in the pistol. If you are going to pay the $200 tax stamp to put a foregrip on it, just make an SBR and put a stock on it.
Consider this, too. Here in FL, the law on armor piercing ammo may make it illegal to load green tip M855 in it, and may make it illegal to posess the ammo and the pistol together for sale. The FL law is vague, your local law may not be so.
