    Wilson Combat Problem?

    Hey Everyone,

I just purchased a new 1911 and bought my first Wilson Combat Mags to go with it. They are the standard 8rds with the larger plastic base pads for my magwell.

The problem is that every time I "slam one home" practicing reloads here at the house the entire plastic base pad comes flying off the bottom of the mag. I thought this might be gun/mag specific so I tried all 3 mags with 3 different 1911's. Same results.

Has anyone else experienced this? I've heard such great things about the Wilson's that I would like to keep them but I know that if the SHTF i'm not going to be gentle on those mags and I don't want them to come apart at the wrong time.

    Thanks in advance,

I use the same mags for my 1911 and haven't had a single problem with them. Much better than the one that came with my gun. Only issue I ever had was when I took em apart to clean them and put the metal baseplate in upside-down. That caused the plastic base to not seat properly. I felt the fool for a couple minutes there until I figured that out.

    Hmm,

Well i've never heard anything but praise for them which is why i switched. I'm sure they're put together right (Well i would hope anyways) as they are new in box.

And when i was practicing I was slamming on them pretty good, but like i said I know if it comes to it the first thing through my head is NOT going to be "Ok, make this a nice gentle mag-change" :-)

Thanks for the quick post, anyone had any problems?
