Obama's effect on AR-15's
OK, so I am considering buying a new Bushmaster AR-15 for around $900 but I'm wondering if I should wait. What are the odds of prices going up if Obama is elected? Also what are yall's views on the odds of Obama trying to enact the "assault"weapons ban again?

More "Assault" type rifles were sold as a direct result of the last Assault Weapon Ban than ever would have been sold otherwise.
More people went out and bought one just to get one that never even thought of buying one until they got wind that the ban was on the horizon. Just FYI.

You can bet that if Obama gets elected, the price of just about all firearms will go up. He is without a doubt the most extreme candidate on guns that's out there. I've already started to buy guns that I want. On my list are an AK47 or variant, a Springfield Armory Socom II, along with some assorted handguns to round out the collection, such as an XD 45 tactical. a 4inch barrel 357, etc. I could get by on what I've already got (Glock `9,26,30, Beretta 92FS, and a SA XD 45 service, a Winchester 1300, Another Winchester shotgun with a pistol grip, and an AR 15), but I just want the others for fun (Ok, the AK and Socom II are for defense). I also have started stocking up on ammo.

I'd say that's a very good bet. If-----if IT'S elected.

Shocked!
Didn't Obama say, after the recent Supreme Court decision on Heller vs. DC, that he agreed with the decision and supported the individual right to own firearms?
Don't tell me that you guys don't believe him!
I'm shocked at the lack of trust around here!

1 theory is, and it is what I went with;
CCW and weapons would be grandfathered. I dont think anyone republican or Democrat would be stupid enough to repeat what has been done in the past, with beverages ect...

Obama also said he isn't going to take our guns, because he doesn't have the votes in congress. I guess this means he does want to take them. To me, Obama is just one letter away from being Osama.

As long as you can afford it, and as long as it isn't "variety" spending that could go towards mags, ammo or parts for existing platforms, you should pick it up. $900 is FMV.

around here, AR's and other "assault" rifles are already starting to see their supplies dwindle. i personally wouldn't wait. if obama is elected, the price of an AR will skyrocket immediately. even as we get close, the fear of him as president has got people buying up just in case.
