No guns for me this Xmas - not that I have ever actually had guns as specific presents. Wife and I regard any of 365 days as a chance to get something one way or the other.

I have only made two changes really in some while - Gary's 220 and recently traded my P12 with San Antone, for his 228. I have pics of both but hey - up to a point a SIG - is a SIG - is a SIG!

I'll bet Rfurtkamp has something he can ascribe to (blame on) Xmas as too I bet will Class3NH LOL.

I just got a new stainless .300 Whisper barrel for my Contender.

On it was mounted a 4 x Leupold scope with TSOB mount.

It looks beautiful and the price was right....at 150.00.

Quite a steel for a barrel that lists for 280, the scope for 299 and the TSOB mount for 90 bucks.

Cant complain....

A friend of mine called me up at work and told me to meet him at the house after work. He is building an 8000+ square foot mansion for a guy that is a gazillionair. This guy decided to get into reloading and spent a small fortune on reloading equipment, but later decided that he didnt have the time or the inclination to do it.

So he lets this stuff sit around in the boxes, most of it never opened, along with several thousand bullets each in .25,27,30,35,9mm and 45 calibers.He tells my friend that he can have it all and if he dosent want it, hes just going to chunk it all in the trash.

Naturally, this friend of mine being an avid hunter and reloader, filled the back of his F250 pickemup truck with all kinds of stuff that you cant imagine.Amongst all of this stuff was this brand new in the box .300 Whisper barrel from the T/C Custom Shop. with the TSOB and the Leupold scope already mounted. Since I was the only guy that he knew for sure that had a stainless T/C Contender, he offered it up to me.

I offered him 150.00 just for starters and he jumps on it and says he needs the money for Christmas. He tells me that I made a killer deal,as he knows how much its worth but what the heck,it didnt cost him anything so hes happy...and Im happy.

On December 4th I went to the gun show here in Tampa with my wife of 20 years. I mainly went to look and fondle since I couldn't afford to purchase anything.

I found a Ruger SP-101 .357 snubnose and commented that I have been eyeing this baby for more than a year. She promptly whipped out some cash and, "Buy it, Happy Anniversary (it was November 23rd) and Merry Christmas."

WOW, was I suprised. I STILL haven't stopped grinning. She is a keeper.
