What if someone removed your magazine without your knowledge

Just finished watching the movie 88 Minutes. Not sure why it was 107 minutes long, but I digress.

Here is the background. Al Pacino is a forensics scientist. He has an assistant, Kim. Someone is trying to kill Al. In one scene, Al accidentally discovers that Kim carries a Glock 19 (whoot!) in her purse. He has a hissy fit. She of course has a permit and states that she carries because she has a psycho ex-husband.

Later in the movie, Al goes into Kim's purse and removes the magazine from her gun. I am not sure why as someone is trying to kill him and it would behoove him to have an armed companion, but he does.

What would you do if you discover that someone removed the magazine from your gun, for whatever reason? How would you react, what would you do, etc.

BTW, Kim was in love with Al so she didn't think badly of him.

I'd probably either yell at them or beat them up (or both)
...not that this will ever happen since I check the mag and do a press check anytime I put the gun on.

On a side note, the above story is definitley a good argument for "on-body" carry...that way no one can mess with it.

Just another perfect reason to not carry off-body. He could never have gotten to her weapon if carried properly, let alone remove the magazine.

    JOO BULLETS CANT HURT ME!

Why is Al Pacino afraid of a little ole glock 19? I mean come on... Scarface anyone? :P

All I gotta say is, nobody is gonna remove my magazine unless they somehow removed my gun from my holster first.

But, I would react as if that person was intending me bodily harm. Because removing the magazine is attempting to set me up to be unable to defend myself properly.

A Glock? Removed the mag? Still one in the pipe...

Good luck taking my sidearm from my IWB tucked in pretty tightly...easier to steal my shorts.

That would never happen 'cos my gun is under my control all the time, besides wouldn't you feel the weight difference when you handle the gun? I too have seen that movie & also thought the same thing.

Um, I'd probably grab another magazine from somewhere on my person (never carry less than one), and load the weapon, then slap the other person senseless for being an idiot.

However, if the weapon is in your control, they shouldn't be able to remove the magazine.

That's why you carry CNL, gives you a round to shoot the guy who took your mag away
The muzzle end of a .45 pretty much says, "Go Away" in every language.

I'd be very pissed and the remover would know that beyond a shadow of a doubt. I'd call LE and have them charged with theft. Because that person showed no respect for myself or property, proved they were no friend... that would be the last involvement I'd ever have with them.

Would somebody be better of removing the ammo from the mag instead ? By leaving the mag unloaded the owner would not know it was unloaded until they pulled it out ?
