What are you going to shoot?
So the conversation goes like this:
(With her arms around me)
Her: So that is your cell phone. What is that? Another cell phone?
Me: Ummm, not exactly.
Her (now looking): What is that?
Me: A magazine
Her: What is that for?
Me: In case I run out of ammunition and need to reload.
Her: Ammunition? Who are you going to shoot?
Me: No one in particular. Just in case something bad happens?
Her: Like what?
Me: I don't know. Has anything bad happened in this neighborhood?
Her: Well, some lady was just raped as she was walking her dog at 3 am. The guy came in to her house and raped her.
Me: And the dog did nothing?
Her: It was a little yap dog.
Me: What would you do have done if that happened to you?
Her: Called the police.
Me: How would you have gotten to the phone?
Her: Good point. What would you have done.
Me: Shot him.
Her: Oh. That is why you carry a gun.
Light bulb goes on.
The conversation then proceeded to her protection and I invited her to learn to shoot. We may have a new convert.

Many conservatives are liberals with 'experience'.
Sounds like you found someone with some common sense...at least she can make 1 + 1 = 2, smart lady!
Stay armed...get her to the range...stay safe!

That is how it works. It is very effective discussion to have with anyone who has common sense.

It's amazingly easy, all you need is someone with half a brain that will listen to logic, think things through and BINGO maybe a self defence plan is a good idea. Nice work, keep recruiting for our side!

So she found your spare mag and cellphone. Where was your gun, in a Smartcarry? Sound like a fun first date to me!

Sounds good. Plain and simple. "Just the facts ma'am, just the facts".

I think I may have finally convinced my daughter she needs to learn to shoot and at least have a pistol and or shotgun for home defense. She lives in Omaha Nebrasks w/4yr old G/daughter and I may go up around first of the year, when I do I will take every 9mm I own and 2 -12 gauge shotguns with 18 1/2" barrels one semi and one pump, whichever shotgun she shoots the best is the one she gets to keep same for the handguns I got a Glock 17 and a SA XD9 I will probably hope she picks the XD for the grip safety.I plan on taking at least 500 rounds of 9mm to get her comfortable with the guns

Way to go. I wish all those conversations went that well.

A good friend of mine has a very petite girlfriend, who had never shot a gun in her life. She was incredibly scared of them at first.
We went to the range the other day, and she started on my 9mm, then was shooting a 45 by the end of the hour.
She wants to go back. Sometimes its just getting over that initial hump.
